And maybe I'm not. Maybe I'm the guy that took a Point of Sale system
that was spewing blood for Verizon and turned it into a system that
hardly ever needed a page-out for application problems. Maybe I'm the
guy that rewrote the C code for the IQ reporting tool that went from
running a 15 minute report to 5 hours, plus losing data after Y2k. I
rewrote the code over the weekend, and the reports were running 15
minutes again - all data intact. Maybe I'm the guy who redesigned the
batch cycle, designed purge and archival projects for the data. I was
the tech lead for a hell of a team. And none of them would have
anything bad to say about me. And when the application was scheduled
to be replaced, trained to be a systems admin and took training
classes. But was left behind because I didn't kiss my manager's ass,
the bitch!

Bitter, yes, very much so. Performance doesn't mean shit.
And slow? I could work rings around you, I'm sure...
