While its true that  Mac monitor (31khz  Horizontal) can not be used on
a IIGS (requires a 15khz horizontal), a somewhat better soution is to
find an original  NEC Multisync or Multisync II (better picture and are
quite cheap in a second hand store) although
the IIGS monitor is also quite cheap there too.
