I have an Apple //c. Purchased it back in 1997 used from the original
owner together with the matching //c green screen monitor (the small one).
Both were in mint condition, still the original Snow White color, with no
discoloration.
Last summer, I had both the //c and the monitor packaged up in their
original boxes, and sitting in my apartment's storage room, which is
usually about 5 to 10 degrees celsius warmer than the rest of my
apartment.
Then, this past January, I pulled the //c and monitor out of their boxes
(after having been boxed up for more than a year), and the external
plastic is definitely discolored, it's more yellowish, almost beige now.
So it's not just UV rays that can cause discoloration. I would say
humidity/heat can also cause it, even if the computers are packed up in
their original boxes.
Just found this interesting to note.
