Reminds me of a couple of stories about serindepity....

Two sisters were going to the same univerisity. One girl signed
up for a journalism course, but then decided she did *not* want
to take it. The school said it was too late to get her money back,
but they would allow the other sister to take the course instead.
So she did...and liked it so much she went on to major in journalism.
The other sister's name was Christian Amanpour.

A female doctor was at a medical conference, and her shoes were
hurting her feet. So she went into an empty lecture hall to sit
down. In a couple of minutes, a lot of people started coming in
and she could *not* leave. The lecture was on angiogenesis. The
female doctor found it so interesting...she changed the course
of her research to angiogenesis.
