This reply is a bit late, but I just noticed no one else has replied.
The two halves of the power brick case are glued together and the only
way to open it is by the careful use of brute force :-)
I have found the best way to open this type of case is by repeatedly
squeezing the case near the joint (in a vice if necessary) until the
glue cracks. Once you have a crack started you can sometimes pry it
apart with a screwdriver. The glue tends to be stronger than the plastic,
so bits of the case edge may break before the glue gives, but they match
the other half of the case so that when you glue it back together it
isn't noticeable.
