Hello,
A friend of mine has asked me to help him convert spreadsheets on 5 1/4 inch
diskettes created on an Apple II c using Appleworks to Lotus 123.
The last time I touched anything Apple was in 1993 when work sent me to a
Mac repair school in Norcross GA for a week. I had a fun time there but
never did get to work on MAC's when I returned.
Another friend gave me his Apple II + with 2 disk drives, extra memory,
printer port, printer and display The only software was games. No DOS disks,
etc. but after some cleaning it all seems to work..
I purchased a superserial card from ebay.
Now the questions:
I suspect the best way to convert the files is using crossworks. I found a
crossworks zip file with a disk image called CWA2.SDK for the Apple side and
zip files for the PC side. I also found DOS33.DMP file with directions on
creating this disk.
What do I need to do to transfer the SDK file to the Apple from my PC via
serial port and to load the SDK file onto a disk ? How do I do it ? Is there
a FAQ that covers how to process all these different image types. I'm not
even sure what image type the Apple II + can handle.
I am also getting a copy II PC board for my old 5 slot IBM PC. I read
someplace that this card can be used to read Apple disks ?
Thanks,
Steve
