ANNC: faddenSoft CiderPress
Ever wish you could just double-click on a .SHK archive and have it open?
Have you wanted to pull files out of a disk archive without having to
worry about how it's compressed or what the sector order is?
Wouldn't it be nice to view those old hi-res graphics images? Maybe your
3200-color super-hi-res pictures?
Do you gaze with fear and trepidation at your huge collection of disk
images and wonder where that long-lost file went?
Wonder and want no more. Introducing faddenSoft CiderPress(tm).
The web site has a full feature list, so only a summary will be
presented here:
- Full support for ShrinkIt (NuFX) archives. Add, view, extract, even
edit and delete comments. Re-compress files and disk images with gzip
"deflate" compression for PC storage.
- View and extract files from Binary II archives.
- View and extract files from disk images. File types handled include
.shk, .sdk, .2mg, .dsk, .img, .hdv, .po, .do, .raw, and .gz. Files
can be extracted from DOS 3.3, ProDOS, Pascal, and CP/M. Formats
and sector ordering are determined automatically, in some cases even
when images have been mis-labeled. Common methods of embedding DOS
volumes in ProDOS disks are automatically recognized. Works with
ProDOS hard drive images too!
- Built-in file viewer handles many Apple II formats, converting BASIC
programs to text listings, AppleWorks documents to RTF, and graphics
to BMP.
- Files can be extracted with attribute preservation strings so that
file type and aux type (e.g. for BIN load addresses) are retained.
These are fully compatible with the "-e" flag in NuLib2 v2.0.
- Comes with a block/sector viewer, useful for low-level examination of
disk images.
Free bonus! Multi-Disk Catalog (MDC) allows you to generate file
listings from hundreds of disk images with only a few mouse clicks.
Just select the images and the automatic format recognition does the rest.
CiderPress is shareware, and may be evaluated free of charge for 30 days.
Registration is US$19.95.
