On emulation, all I can say is: not yet.
IIGS emulation today sucks and it looks like there is not
enough interest to build a truly good IIGS emulator. Sure
playing Zany Golf might be possible but emulator folks
seem to have no interest making the emulator stable
with real GS/OS programs and providing all the needed
I/Os.
I go back to the same argument as the Mac folks moving
from 68k to PPC. It is the feel of the computer. The
modern PC feels a lot more than the modern Mac. Yes
at one point PCs did not but in recent years, the shift
had turned to graphics, sound, and speed. The nForce2
IS a GS. A PCGS. Or, as I like to think of it, what the
IIGS might have become if it continued to evolve: a
modern IIGS.
