I have been having no luck with the Matsushita 4 and 8 speeds so far.
Will be trying them in another case to be sure it is not the case and
its connections that are giving me problems.
 As for the Pioneer CD changer I am not so sure it will fir into my
case.

You can add to the list the
Toshiba XM-3501
Pioneer DR-U06S slot loading, I'm trying to think of a suitable
project to use it in
Philips CM425A
Nec CDR-501
Nec CDR-502 reads CDs fine but the front bezel music playing controls
don't work when connected to a ramfast, had planned on using it in my
tower IIe.
