On the Quantum, the grounds for a0,a1,a2 are all tied together
(common). If you use an ohmmeter you will get relatively 0-ohms from
1-set of 3-pins.
On the switch, 1 of the 4 wires is common. the others are 0-1 0-2 0-4
SCSI id's. (test & select w/ meter)
You MAY solder the connectors..The question is CAN you :-)
All my Quantums use a VERY small set of a0,a1,a2,etc jumper pins ( I
requested & received some VerySmall jumpers from Quantum tech) & have
internal select of SCSI id's. I have to open the cases to change them
:-(
(best to remove any internal termination now so that you can easily
add/remove units to the chain in the future. Use a C50 terminator
externally)
-------------
SCSI TERMINATION:
ONLY (1) per each END OF CHAIN !!!!
If your drive isn't on the END OF THE CHAIN you will need to remove
the (3)terminator resistors in the unit OR move the drive to THE
END...
(been explained in force by Harold Hislop of Apple2 fame....)
