	The hardware looks OK. There are a couple of posibilities.

	Although there is an ethernet card around somewhere, connecting 
directly to your DSL is still around the corner in terms of applications 
and other software.

	Connecting your GS to one of your other machines might be the better 
move. Connecting your Mac and GS through Appletalk would be easier than 
connecting to the PC.

	If you decide to connect to the PC, I really can't say how XP will 
work. If you had a *NIX of somekind (Linux, BSD, Solaris, or whatever), 
you could connect to the PC with a null-modem cable and use terminal 
software.
