I was informed that elements of both versions were used, along with some original programming (the engine - Burger Bill did that part, as I recall, with Sheppy finishing the job)
By the way, the program is freeware, and Sheppy can't even *ask* for contributions for his work. If you ever get a copy, a contribution would be nice.
