Including pre-POSIX unices?   <evil grin>
 
UNIX also happens to be a trademark (or at least it was).
 
Now, as a thought experiment, suppose someone named e.g.  Wilhelm
Thorvalds wrote a Windows replacement from scratch (to avoid having
to pay Microsoft) and then released it for free.  Would you also say
that _was_ Windows?  After all, you could claim e.g. "it is an
implementation of the Win32 API, which is what all Windozes are"....
