Re: Customized Apple II's Around?
not a //e but I did repaint a metal case for a PCT Dual Transdrive
enclosure, and also a metal case for an AMR 800K disk drive for the Apple,
and a metal case for a SCSI CD enclosure.
I took one of the case covers into the paint shop where they matched the
colour to an inside overpainted area that was not faided or yellowed. Cost
was very minimul, only a few dollars for a small sample can of paint. Also
specified what finish I wanted, like satin or matt etc. Before painting the
over the old paint I just used some Wax & Grease Remover.
Results were fantastic using a spray gun with a couple of coats. Paint still
looks good after a couple of years.
I had though of trying a plastic Apple II case or Mac one day but don't want
to lose the printed logos on the case.
