I've got six of those here. Two in an old Northstar, two in the machine I
built myself, and two more in an external cabinet which attached to my own
machine. I recall well the "amazingly high" density as compared to other
5.25" drives. I also recall that it wasn't exactly easy to find sixteen
sector hard sectored floppies.
Then I rewrote the BIOS so it could operate the two externals as though they
were one drive. I don't recall if I had it act as a four head drive or I
spoofed the track selector. Whatever, it was kind of nice to have two disks
worth of capacity available as a single drive. It was interesting to watch
the drive lights blink back and forth as they got fragmented too.
