Assuming that the problem is dirt, you can be a bit more generous
with soap & water if you can suspend the monitor face down, so that
excess liquid drains off the face instead of into the case.

After a thorough rinse, dry the face, stand the monitor upright, and
give it a final light wash with Windex.

Don't use it for a day or two, just in case some water got inside.
