The Thunderclock driver is in a different spot in the ProDOS image
in the different ProDOS versions.  It is not simply moved into place,
but is relocated, IIRC, so you'll have to understand a bit more of the
ProDOS initialization code than you planned.

The easiest way is to do what you first suggested:  run a separate
xxx.system program to install the clock driver and then run the
next .system program.  This is actually what Apple recommends, too.
