7 Jan 2003 ### Juiced.gs still with us!

A report to our links base reported that the Juiced GS Magazine web
site is down. We received an email today from Eric Shephard that this
is a temporary thing and will be corrected soon. According to his
email, this was due to a planned relocation of facilities.

7 Jan 2003 ### Mac World Expo San Francisco

In what could be a number of firsts from Apple, Steve Jobs wowed the
audience at the keynote speech with the introduction of a number of
nice new items. He ran through a half dozen software updates and
began talking about the real items he came to disclose. The number
one item was his new 1GHZ 17" Powerbook which is made of Aluminum
Alloy. There is also a 12" model which is made with the same
materials and has many of the same features.

Some of the nifty features included Firewire 800, 802.11g (an 54 mb
throughput wireless standard compatible with 802.11b), back lit
keyboards and almost every input output device ever made for a
computer.

He also introduced iLife which is a combination of iTunes, iPhoto,
iDVD, and iMovie. This package has been fully integrated and will
share data seamlessly between the applications.

Another introduction was Safari which was released in Beta for today.
Safari is the newest browser and according to Steve, by far the
fastest browser on the planet for the Mac. There were several other
introductions of software including Keynote and Final Cut Express.

Overall, the introductions seemed to wow the audience into its usual
submissive self except with a couple of the pricing announcements.
