Hi Tim,
Two points you need to know.
Firstly, as others have noted, you need a volume label on a Windows 95 or
later disk. However, they neglected to mention that the directory entry
containing the label must be located before any long filename entries (which
look like broken volume label entries). Translation: You pretty much need to
create the volume label before writing any files to the disk.
Secondly, you are probably the first person who has found the interface
"hard"! (Although I admit I would probably do it in a somewhat different way
today!)
One thing that may change your mind is that there is a later version (never
formally released so only available to registered users) which automatically
detects binary or text files. And sorry, it still doesn't do directory
recursion - and not likely to as an NDA!
