I had a similar problem with an Apple printer, I solved it by running a 
printserver on a Mac I wasn't using for much else.  The ghost of the old 
AOL Apple II forums still lists the files being there.  I may try the 
driver with my printer... but it may not just be the laserwriter driver 
itself it may also be some of the underlying appletalk drivers too.

I assume you've powered on all the localtalk devices before the AsanteTalk?
