Here's what I did. I recently pulled my IIgs stuff out of the closet.
Wanting to transfer files from my PC to IIgs and not having a null modem
cable at the time, I directly connected the two with modem. The PC
laptop has internal modem that connects directly with telephone cord to
the external modem of the IIgs. I issued ATX0 on both to dial/answer
without dial tone, did ATD on one end and ATA on the other. Used Zmodem
protocol between Hyperterminal on PC and Proterm on IIgs.
I then found my old 9-pin serial to ADB null-modem cable and that allowed
me to do the same as above but using direct 57.6K serial connection and
bypassing the slower modem. I now get 5.7K vs. 1.4K cps.
If my memory is correct years ago I used a CDA that allows the IIgs
serial port to operate at 115.2K (my 15MHz Zip GSX should be able to
handle that). I trying to find that. I know about Fastport, Quickport
and Quickport II but those only allow up to 57.6K. Proterm 3.1 already
supports that natively. Does any know about this CDA?
