By the time I upgraded my IIe, I had already moved the Skunk Works into a
homebrew 286.  It let me have my Apple back...and with DESQview, I was still
able to do other stuff with the BBS machine while the BBS was online.

I've toyed with the idea of making an Apple II BBS available via telnet...it
seems that'd only be good for doing for the hell of it at this point,
though.  Apache is just as capable of serving up Apple II files as any BBS
software, and I already have it up and running.

A webserver running on an Apple II, though...that would be a worthwhile
hack. :-)
