for what its worth - I put drive in expernal box & connected to another
Mac - After HD speed tools & HD tool kit are the only things that could
even see *something* was connected but they show 0 (zero) mb device & "device not ready"
If you have files you want to recover
Sometimes putting it in a freezer for an hour lets it start up. If it
does don't shut it down, copy all your data off it.
You could also try to find the same hard drive and swap the
printed circuit board
