I'm doing it in Visual C. I'd already done a C version for DOS, but I
couldn't duplicate the sounds successfully, although I tried copying what
the machine-language routines in the Apple version did.

Well, if you're doing it as a Windoze programme you need to fork a separate
thread for the game, and it seemed natural to use the Sleep command for the
delays, since it allows the other threads to do their thing. I suppose it's
a bit like DoEvents in VB.

No, I'm talking about things like this:
The date is written as a year and decimal parts of a year, e.g. 3284.64. A
minor bug is that fractions < 0.1 are printed without a leading zero - e.g.
3284.06 would appear as 3284.6. Also, when it prompts you for a
self-destruct password (in BLOCK CAPITALS, of course) it spells password
with a zero instead of an 'O'.
My main area of concern is I'm not happy with the font I'm using, which is
Courier New. The Apple font was based on an 8 by 5 matrix and I'm wondering
if I'll have to do it graphically to get the identical look.
