First off, as Greg W. says, yes, this guy is a troll...he trolls around 
the comp.sys.mac newsgroups a bit.

Second off, unless Apple introduces all new Macs, desktops and laptops 
on 1/1/03, there will be Macs you can buy in 2003 that will be able to 
boot into OS 9.  Apple is not likely going to be changing the machines 
so they suddenly won't boot into OS 9.  What will happen is that when 
new hardware is introduced, Apple will not update OS 9 to support the 
new Macs.

Sometimes legacy hardware has to be left behind for the newer hardware 
to improve.
