He was a guest speaker at KansasFest back around 1992-1993 or so. I loved
the double-take he gave me when I showed up wearing my Robot War t-shirt! It
was at that time that I asked him about releasing all of his stuff,
unlocked, into the public domain, and he said he would love to but that the
hard drive had gone to a landfill long before.
I remember a review of Robot War that led to a monthly national tournament
that ran for a couple of years. I think it was in Micro but I wouldn't swear
to it. It should have been probably 1981. I won the tournament myself, one
month.
