Is this a "no brainer" (i.e. plug-in) conversion? Any docs regarding this floating around? I have a couple of 1.44M Mac drives pulled from older systems and would like to perform surgery on one of my AppleDisk 3.5" units.

If;s a very easy conversion. undo 4 screws in the case, remove it. 1
screw to remove a sheet metal cover so you have access to the 20 pin
connector. Remove 2 screws on each side and the mechanism slides out.

Wayne,

You were right - it was a piece of cake! I used a drive mechanism from an older Mac IIcx, and it works fine. The one exception I've found is that neither the eject button nor software eject work. So far, I'm doing fine with a straightened out paperclip, but that will get old at some point.

Any tips?
