I've created 90MB partitions on a Focus card and 500MB partitions
on an SCSI drive so it is definitely not an HFS issue.

The problem might be with the MicroDrive partitioning software.
Check the documentation to see if it supports partitioning >32MB.

As long as your partitioning software can create the >32MB
partition, the HFS FST will allow you to (through Finder format)
format it HFS with all the space.
