I vaguely recall a situation where an auxiliary slot card had to be
redesigned to fit in an international IIe - the manufacturer assumed a
certain length was available between the slot and the back of the
computer, and this was only true for US models. It might have been the
RamWorks II which doesn't fit, but the RamWorks III does?
The other effect (as noted by Michael J. Mahon) is that you almost
always lose the real slot 3 for anything useful if you have a card in
the auxiliary slot. About the only combinations which works is
something like a normal 128K "extended 80 column" card (of the
relatively modern miniature variety, the same length as the slot and
about one inch high) in combination with a short card in slot 3 (no
longer than a 5.25" disk controller, say).
