There does appear to be some sort of issue with disk ejects. When I
power on the IIgs it continually tries to eject the disk (even if
there's nothing in there). I can insert a disk with the power off, but
it gets ejected as soon as I flip the power switch. I *think* the mech
is good, but I guess I should check with another one.

Going to go visit my Mac collecting friend who has another drive.

There's another issue, the M0130 and M0131 don't work on the IIgs
without a special card. You need the A9M106 or the G7287(SuperDrive).
The A9M106 and M0131 use the same mechanism but the A9M106 has a
daisy-chain board, without which the IIgs can't use the drive.
The A2M2053(3.5" UniDisk) is also useable on the IIgs but under GSOS
the IIgs constantly polls the drive which most people find annoying or distracting, it's also slower.
