Best is such a vague term. Best for what? But I suppose in general most
people would think the platinum model was an improvement.

The platinum model is an enhanced //e, so it has the CMOS processor (65C02)
with more instructions, and a newer ROM.
A non-platinum //e might or might not be enhanced.
