Re: METAL BBS Driver Specs?

I'm working on a project kind of like BBSLink, except it requires no modems
or a dial-tone faker box. I have my GS hooked up to my PC with a null-modem
cable. I wrote software in Visual Basic that allows telnetters to connect
to the BBS...unfortunately, when they disconnect (drop carrier so to speak),
the BBS doesn't detect that because it's a null-modem cable, not an actual
modem. I was fiddling around with hooking up the DTR line from the PC to
the DCD line of the GS and setting it to Hi or Lo from the VB software so
the BBS would see a "dropped carrier" condition, but so far I haven't been
able to get it to work. So I was thinking about modifying the null modem
driver in METAL so I could send a "unique string" that the driver would see
and then internally tell METAL that a "dropped carrier" condition exists.
But, unfortunately, I no longer have the source code to METAL and I haven't
been able to locate Shane or Tony to see if they still have it.

There it is...in a nutshell...
