I usually use 20x20x20, or sometimes 20x14x12, and stiffen the box w/
rigid styrofoam, then use either bubble wrap (large bubbles), or foam
to encase the monitor, and foam "peanuts" to fill the spaces. I've
(so far) shipped about 15 monitors, and never had a problem.
25 lbs. in a 20x20x20 box, from my house to Chicago is (according to
the USPS web site) $25.75 for Priority Mail, or $19.41 Parcel Post.
UPS is probably a bit cheaper, but USPS is easier for me. Also, a
token couple of bucks for the box, packaging materials, etc., would be
nice :-)
