You do know there is software available to allow you read and write
MS-DOS disks directly on a GS, don't you?

Mac/HFS format would be better. Longer file names, case sensitive
names, support for forked files, etc..

I do a try tonite, and mounted under linux a hfs partition written under gsos and could copy over the network the entire content of the disk..

Just a note : I've just installed the 6.01 HFS FST under gsos 5 as I can't boot gs os 6.01 (not enough ram if I install the scsihd driver)...

I hope you are using something like a Zip disk or removable hard disk. Even Linux won't be able to handle 800K floppies. The 1.4Mb floppies should be fine. It's a hardware thing.

I seem to recall something about Macs not being able to read HFS disks formatted with an earlier FST version. I don't think the same problem exists with Linux.
