Running GNO on top of GSOS 5

Hello,
due to lack of memory I still use GSOS 5 (I presume the 5.04)...
I've installed GNO 2.0.6 and the install process had gone fine to the end.
But when I launch the kern file I get a fatal error.
Does GNO runs with 5.04 or do I need absolutely GSOS 6.01 (which,once
again, I can't use)
