Hello:
Is it possible to change the baud rate in Proterm3.1 on line? How?
Sometimes I cannot connect to a provider unless it is at
2400 bps,,but then I like to up the baud ratge on line.

Generally you are looking at two places to change the baud rate. The first is in the computer/serial card itself. Generally it is best to keep this one fairly high to start. Most modems have a buffer which will compensate for a higher speed.

Next is the modem itself. This is a little more tricky. You'd have to read your manual for the specifics. It is possible to raise your baud rate while on line, but not advised. When two modems connect they negociate between them as to the quality of the line and the speed of the two modems. They will choose the best option between them. If one modem (not yours) is limited to 2400 baud this is the value they will use. If you DO want to up your baud rate from YOUR anyhow, you will need to send an init string to the modem. You will need to send an escape sequence to send an offline command. Then you will need to send another command to resume the connection. If you had already set it for, say, 56K anyhow then the problem is the connection and not your modem. All you can do is hope it gets better or hang up and try again hoping you'll get a better connection.
