I've been running into some problems getting a HD set up for my ROM 1
IIgs with a Rev C SCSI card. I can go ahead and get it formatted and
install stuff on it, but I'd like to get all the Mac partition info off
of it, and avoid the errors that come up saying it can't mount the
partition.
I'm working with an old 40 meg drive (I've actually tried two - one
Apple ROM-ed, and one that isn't). If I fire up the Advanced Disk
Utility to erase it, I can erase the disk, but when I try and partition
it, after I set up the partitions, it gives me an error that it can't
partition the drive. I tried setting the 32 meg partition first and
last, to no avail.
I also hooked the drive up to a Mac and tried to set up the partition
map with SilverLining. I was able to set that up correctly, but then I
couldn't boot from the disk (I'd been able to boot from it before I ran
it through SilverLining). If I'm remembering correctly, I couldn't even
erase it via the ADU after that.
Can anyone give me some tips about what I may be missing here? All my
SCSI voodoo knowledge was gained on Macs, so I'm a bit out of my
environment here. I looked at the CSA2 FAQs and didn't find any info
that really related to this.
Thanks.
Greg
