Hi,
I have an Apple IIGS ROM01, and found lot of disk image on internet to run
it. Some of these disk start with a Prodos 8 (usually 2,0,3) or Prodos 16.
Can't say if this is the version which comes with GSOS or not...
What are the difference between Prodos 8 and Prodos 16 ?
Prodos 8 was written in 8 bit code. Prodos 16 was 16 bit code. The new
version is called GSOS. Prodos 16 was an intermediate version until
Apple could wrap its head around GSOS.
More over, where to find the latest version of Prodos and BASIC-SYSTEM ?
I need also a copy of the original disk that came with my Apple IIGS, i
can't find them.
Contact your local user group. The way I understand it is Apple allows
them to sell it for a low price (to recover costs and fund the clubs).
Unfortunately Apple does not allow anybody to put copies of it on the net.
