Z-Fest 2002 ante portas International participients
Hello again,
first, all the stories about CP/M being dead or ZCPR stuff no longer
being supported, they are all lies!
The die-hard Z-Community in Germany has its own way of celebrating the
neverending success story of the ZILOG Z-80 and related topics.
This year, we are proud to invite you to the 11th German Z-Fest, for
your convenience, we changed location two years ago to the centre of
Germany, Fuldatal-Knickhagen, close to the city of Kassel.
Even now, we can still welcome new faces in our rows, which always adds
to the family feeling we have grown over the years. It's fun to make
new friends that already share your interest for sure!
If you are travelling from a farther distance, make sure you do a hotel
reservation at http://www.zfest.de/hotels.htm
Should you require national language support, feel free to contact
webmaster@zfest.de for assistance.
Please note, that the opening day, Saturday July 13th, the venue will
be open as of 10:00 AM, not before. On Sunday, you could possibly find
people already there, as some have chosen to spend the night in sleeping
bags aside their computers.
So please note
Location: Dorfgemeinschaftshaus Fuldatal-Knickhagen
http://www.zfest.de/fuldatal/gemhaus.gif
Date: 13th and 14th July 2002
Time: open from 10.00 AM to open end
When you enter the Z-Fest, make sure to enter your name into the visitor
list and to think about a modest contribution to help salvage the costs
for renting the place and for basic supplies.
Every year, we took a lot of pictures and filmed on (PAL) Video-8.
These materials went on CD-ROMs, that can be purchased at the location.
As of this year, the documentation format has chanded to Video-CD,
playable on any PAL-DVD player. The MPEG-1 movie-materials can be played
back on most any PC via the Microsoft Multimedia Player, if the required
MPEG-1 CODEC is installed. Should PAL be a problem for you, ask someone
in your area familiar with Video-CD playback of European PAL standards.
Just to mention it, we have also participated at the Vintage
Computer Festival Europe and filmed on location in the same standard.
These materials are available on VIDEO-CD as well.
The picture part on those CDs should be displayable on every PC.
Of course, you can also order these CDs, whcih might be convenient while
you travel. On the other hand, you should then be aquainted with your
local import restrictions or taxation on such material.
Best regards
Helmut Jungkunz & Gaby Chaudry
See you all at the Z-FEST!
