Hi,
I don't know if this is the right group to post in, if not please tell
me which group is better and I'll post this question in that group.
I have recently obtained a Lisa 2 computer. It has 1MB of RAM and a
Sun Remarketing Lisa/XL SCSI controller card with a 40MB HD
piggybacked on it. It boots off a MacWorks Plus 1.1h floppy disk and
then off the HD to Mac System 6.0.3. The system works very well.
I am pretty sure that it does not have the Lisa to Macintosh screen
pixel modifications, as the Trash Can icon looks long and skinny on
the screen under MacWorks Plus.
Here is my question:
Is it possible to install and run the Lisa Office System 3.1 and the
Lisa WorkShop on this computer with the Lisa/XL SCSI controller card?
I have looked at previous posts and some say "no", others say "yes".
What is the "definitive" answer? By the way, the HD is shown on the
Lisa's boot option screen as device #3 (and the 3.5 floppy drive as
#2) so I presume somewhere it is actually emulating a Widget HD.
If it is not possible to install and run the above software, I presume
that I'd have to remove the Lisa/XL SCSI controller card and replace
it with .... what? I guess I'd also have to look for an original
and operational Lisa Widget 10MB hard disk. Knowing how hard these
are to come by these days, are there any alternatives?
Thanks in advance for any answers.
Giorgio
