As someone recently said: that's a good argument when we used it on the playground of kiddie school, back then.

Oh yeah, piracy was rampant in the PC world, yet PC developers thrived.

Whether you like it or not, he has a good and valid point here.

In fact, it's kinda the point. The Commodore 64 was in the same situation, piracy all over the place, and that certainly didn't kill it either (obsolescence and Commodore did).

I think you are either being delibertely obtuse or you are a moron.

Now you're getting into personal abuse, like it happened here so many times before, just because someone came to another conclusion than you. A shame, that. Some more self-control would be nice in public spaces.

We are not talking about todays market, we are talking about the market of
10-12 years ago.

Correction: he WAS talking about *todays* market, while you chose to reply with regard to the situation of ten years ago.

historical interest, but there's very little money in it. Get over it.

Of course there is no money in it, but I'm not arguing against piracy,

Hm, I have some doubts about that...

who rabidly oppose piracy for a hobbyist platform. It has nothing in
particular to do with the world today, and everything to do with the
world of a decade ago. It's a grudge match, a vendetta,

Yeah, and one that should've died ages ago, I'd say. Let it go. You'll sleep better.

Nobody would require ya to like Turley, who did good things as well as bad, but given the virtually non-existant AppleII market of today he can't do much damage anymore either. The people who do appreciate 'new' AII software coming out are willing to pay for it anyhow.

Let it rest.
