I am also a Mac-User here in Germany (Performa 6200 and 5320) and since last
month I have two Apple //gs, one with ROM1 and one with ROM3.

I am also a gs newbie but I have found answers:

WOZ-EDITION: This was personally signed gs-machines, around 5-10.000 pieces.
The signer was WOZ a important Apple-man (the designer?)
You dont need this special machine, because in it is not faster ect.

Your machine is fine, because transwarp and harddisk. Mine have no harddisk and
only the standard 1 or 2.8 MHz and 2 MB RAM.

To take a look onto the inner things you must enter the so called "Control
Panel".

But first try the selftest: control-apple-option-reset (with gs-keyboard)
control-both apple-option-reset (mac-keyboard)

The Memory will be tested, the video and the soundsystem. At the end hopefully
a "System Good"

Control panel:
control-apple-esc

There you have the possibility to change RAM amount, 40 or 80 column video,
color or monochrome, text- and backgroundcolor and so on. Also the slots!

There you also will find your memeory amount.

Transwarp is super, harddisk is super, RAM-card with 4-8 MB will be very nice,
the others you must look in the owners guide or at your choice, for what you
need the gs...

Yes, great things are out in the internet, but often in emulator-mode, as
shk-files and others. Then you will need to create a transfer from these images
to a real 3,5 or 5,25 disk!
