Hi, Norm.
You may be able to find a good Apple II joystick (like a CH Mach III
or FlightStick) in good condition. (By the way, you can use a joystick
with the old 16-pin IC type plug, too. It plugs into a socket on the
motherboard.)
Otherwise, a pretty good alternative is to get a PC stick and
build a simple adapter to plug it into your IIe. For info about this,
