Since I just got a batch of //e's with DuoDisks, I thought I'd
experiment a bit... I've got a Platinum //e with DD's in slots 5,6 & 7
-- so far no big troubles...
I put a System Saver on just to be cautious, but the controller cards
don't seem to generate much heat at all (tested by waving my hand over
them... not too scientifical, I know...)
I have Mouse Desk installed in the boot drive which takes the guess
work out of things a bit... only problem is quitting a program like
Mouse Paint or Copy II Plus, or using the BYE command from basic,
dumps me into the monitor... not sure if that has anything to do with
having too many drives installed or if it has something to do with
Mouse Desk being a fairly primitive program...
Anyway, the best thing about it is watching all the lights come on
when it boots, other than that it just saves me from switching disks
as often... and it looks cool.
