Hardware Requirements for Flight Simulator II

I've been trying to run Flight Simulator II on my Apple II+, but it either
hangs up after I select demo or regular game mode or returns to the Loading
screen and starts the process all over again.  Does anyone know what the
hardware requirements are for this program.  I don't have the manual and all
the disk says is "for the Apple II".

Also, I'm starting it by putting it in the drive and turning on the
computer.  Is that the best way?
