I have in my posession one working model of every machine in the Apple
II line. While a bit rusty, growing up with these machines since '79
has given me enough of a base to do just about anything I need (with
the exception of machine language, which seems to have escaped me
altogether). This is not true with the IIgs however, as I just got my
first IIgs this week, and it's left me at a loss. It is a Rom3
machine, 5MB RAM, 80MB HDD, System 6.01 and two floppies (3.5 & 5.25).
Help, I know nothing of GS/OS. I have some Shrinkit files I'd like to
port from the PC to the GS, but to what port? I've done this back and
forth with my II+ and IIe using ADT and the SSC, but they were only
.DSK files. Is there ADT for the GS? What port on the GS would I
hook the null modem/serial cable to? Do I need a special version of
Shrinkit to manipulate these 800K files? Will the SSC work in the GS,
can I just do it that way (assuming there's an ADT for the GS).
Any pointers to good FAQ's, manuals, any information on working with
GS/OS system 6?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
