5.25" floppy drives are nowadays considered obsolete and unprofitable
to manufacture, but of course it's pssobile to build such a drive;
nothing in science itself would prevent you from doing so. And for a
newer PC it's actually quite simple to hook up a 5.25" drive: if you
can hook up a 3.5" drive to it, you can also hook up a 5.25" drive to
it, if you can find the physical space where to put the 5.25" drive
(tossing out the CD-ROM and inserting a 5.25" drive instead could be
an option... :-) and if the ROM BIOS of your computer supports 5.25"
drives (they're usually called "1.2M" or "360K" in the ROM BIOS).
