Head off to your nearest thrift store. Find an old PC keyboard, lever off one
of the keys and see if the fitting is the same as the Apples. A 't' shape for
the IIe. A rectangle for the GS. Once you find a keyboard you have spares now.
If you need those keys let me know by removing the invalid from my address -
I'll mail them to you. PC keyboards are a good source of spare key switches.
Key switch removal on the IIe:
1) Unsolder the offending key switches contacts on the printed circuit board
2) Turn the keyboard over and insert 2 small flat screwdrivers into the two
retaining tongues. Waggle the switch out. Once you get the hang of it it is
quite easy.
3) Replace!
What with spare IIe keyboards and PC keyboards I think I have enough in that
department to last me to the year 25874. I should live so long :-))
