Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a chance to do any further testing since my last post, and probably won't for a bit longer.  I suspect that I may simply have one or more poor solder joints, since I've never assembled a kit of this nature before.  However when I get the chance, the first thing I plan to do is to make sure I've got a good copy of an appropriate boot disk, and see if I can get it to boot from a real floppy.  If so, then the card itself should be good, otherwise I'll need to examine my work for flaws and see if I can fix them.
