Since it becomes very expensive to get a decent accelerator (4 or 8 Mhz) for the Apple IIe now, what about building a clone?
Many other famous boards have been cloned and there are three ways for doing it:
- cloning an accelerator board such as the transwarp IIe
- cloning the zip chip
- provide a set of components to be set and solder on the motherboard to overclock the actual apple IIe
Depending on the best way to achieve a 8mhz acceleration system for $200 max I could build a proto and then collect the orders to launch the production of the actual systems.
What do you thinks of it ? Do you have docs about the internal working of the existing accelerators?
thanks
